What Makes Us Different?
At Tiferet Chiropractic, our goal is to relieve your pain quickly – and then help you build a body that is stronger and healthier than it was before your injury or problem began.
Pain is caused by abnormal stress placed upon an area of your body. In our modern society, abnormal stress typically comes from repetitive movements and poor posture and this creates a variety of different problems – tight achy muscles, stiff joints, weak muscles and sloppy, unstable joints.
When the stress placed upon your body reaches a certain threshold, the result is pain. Since the stress and pain is caused by a variety of different problems, the most effective treatment will be the one that addresses all aspects of your problem.
Our unique form of chiropractic rehabilitation combines the best of chiropractic medicine, which focuses on stiff spinal joints, and physical therapy, which addresses tight muscles – to create a comprehensive treatment plan designed specifically for you.
At Tiferet Chiropractic, we have developed a special combination of gentle chiropractic care, deep tisue massage and physical therapy exercises. The purpose of the treatment plan is always the same – to stabilize your spine, balance your muscles, improve your range of motion, and correct your posture – but the methods and exercises we use will be specific for your unique needs and goals.
The end result is fast pain relief and a stronger, healthier you.
Our Techniques
Chiropractic Adjustments
A chiropractic adjustment is given to stiff spinal joints in order to restore normal motion. The adjustment also gives important input to the nervous system to correct muscle tightness or weakness and relieve nerve inflammation. This results in reduced pain and improved stability and range of motion.
At Tiferet Chiropractic we use a variety of adjusting methods – including Diversified technique (manual), gentle low-force techniques, and the Activator instrument – to improve motion in the joints. Each person is unique and we use the method most appropriate for your comfort level and situation.
Chiropractic adjustments work with the muscles and other tissues surrounding a stiff joint and gently guide them to release in the proper direction. By working with the body, instead of fighting against it, the treatment is comfortable for the patient and the results are longer lasting.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is an integral part of the treatment process. When muscles have been tight for a long time, several dysfunctional processes take place. First of all, tight muscles constrict the blood vessels that support the muscle – restricting waste removal. As waste products build up, the muscles become sore and knots or trigger points form. Secondly, adhesions (scar tissue) form between the fibers of tight muscles. No matter how much a muscle is stretched, it won’t be able to heal and function normally until the adhesions are removed.
We use deep tissue techniques including stripping, petrissage and cross-friction as well as a variety of special tools to release muscular adhesions and trigger points.
Muscle Strengthening
Muscle weakness is caused by several factors including poor posture, inactivity, joint stiffness, family genetics, past injuries, and nerve inflammation. Strengthening weak muscles allows tight muscles to finally, truly relax.
The first step in correcting muscle weakness is to reduce the inflammation in the nerve that controls the weak muscle. We do this by gently massaging the nerve and by removing joint stiffness along the path that the nerve travels. Next we wake up the muscle by deeply massaging its starting and ending points. Finally, we teach you special exercises to strengthen the weak muscle.
Physical Therapy
We teach you simple exercises that you will practice at home. They are designed specifically for your unique needs. The goal of the home exercise program is to improve muscle strength and restore stability and proper alignment to your body – all of which reduce the likelihood of injury and further degeneration.
